Rajapur Upazila Executive Officer Farhana Yasmin fined Tk 1 lakh to the owner of M/s Baraia Bricks of Baraia Union of Upazila for not renewing the license and clearance of the Environment Department. On the other hand, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Hasan Mohammad Swaib fined the owner of Seven Star Bricks of Galua Union of upazila one lakh taka and the owner of M/s Akon Bricks in Uttar Baghari area of Upazila Sadar was fined 50 thousand taka. At this time Rajapur police station officer-in-charge M. Ataur Rahman assisted the police operation. UNO Farhana Yasmin said that the owners of the brick kilns were fined and closed due to non-renewal of licenses and permits issued by the Department of Environment.
