Development of rural infrastructure against Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Ferdous Ahmed of Kaliganj Upazila of Lalmonirhat.
Complaints have been made about the work. As he has been working in the same upazila for a long time, he is losing money in these ongoing projects in the name of development. Locals claim that the real picture will emerge if the investigation is carried out on the ground. However, there are complaints that even though he has looted these projects under the political umbrella, no one has the courage to protest.
In the rural infrastructure development work of the upazila, the development expenditure has been shown in the financial year 2023-24, but in reality most of the projects have not been done. 4 crore 41 lakh 77 thousand 620 taka in 310 projects, 292 metric tons of rice in 36 projects and 236 metric tons of wheat in 23 projects have been shown for the development of various programs. Locals are claiming that if these projects were properly implemented, about 1,700 workers would get 3 months of employment at a daily wage of Tk 400.
When the president of the project implementation committee was contacted, he said that the work of the rural infrastructure development project is being done in this way. The project implementing authorities are aware of these projects. He suggested to talk to him. Kaliganj Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Ferdous Alam tried several times to talk to him about the complaint brought against him but could not talk to him as he did not answer the phone.
this regard, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Zahir Imam said, if there is any irregularity, necessary measures will be taken after investigation. I will inspect the project myself. He claims that he will understand 100% of the work.
