Tribute by Pirojpur District Volunteer League on Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day

On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day, a tribute was paid by the initiative of Pirojpur District Volunteer League. This morning, under the leadership of Rasel Parvez Raja, President of the Volunteer League of Pirojpur District, District, Sadar Upazila and Municipal leaders paid their respects.

District Volunteer League President Mostafizur Rahman Sohag, Dola Guha, Imran Ahmed were present among others. Joint General Secretary Aminul Islam Amin Mostafa, Jasim Haulder Raihan and Russell Sikder. Sadar Upazila convener Atiqul Islam Hira and Volunteer League leader Jewel Sikder were present.

At that time, under the leadership of Municipal Volunteer League President Zahirul Haque Titu and General Secretary Engineer Sohel Sheikh Rubel, Publicity Secretary Mominul Islam Raja, various leaders of colleges were present.
It is noted that a group of activists led by Hriday Ahmed, Vice President of Govt Suhrawardy College Chhatra League participated in the tribute program with the District Volunteer League.

It is noted that the father of the Bengali nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was released from the captivity of Pakistan and stepped on the soil of the newly independent Bangladesh on this day in 1972. After the victory in the liberation war, there was anxiety all over the country about his release and return to the country. The joy of victory in the liberation war remained incomplete. People saw a complete victory in Bangabandhu’s return to independent Bangladesh that day. Bangabandhu described his homecoming as a ‘journey from darkness to light’.
