The United States will hold accountable those who threaten and intimidate labor union leaders, labor rights activists, and labor organizations around the world. For this, measures like sanctions, commercial sanctions and visa restrictions will be taken against them.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this information in a message on Thursday (November 17). He said that the United States will keep in touch with governments, workers, workers’ organizations, trade unions, civil society and the private sector to protect workers’ rights around the world. Those who are manning our embassies around the world (ambassadors) will work with workers and unions.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken highlighted Bangladeshi garment worker and rights activist Kalpana Akhtar in a video message. He said he is alive because the US embassy spoke on his behalf.
