488 officers and members of the police received ‘IGP’s Exemplary Good Services Badge’ (IG’s Badge) in recognition of commendable and good work. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun presented the badge to them at the parade ground of Rajarbagh Police Lines on Wednesday (February 28) afternoon. He also handed over certificates to the badge holders. It is the second highest police award.
Additional DIG (Confidential) of Police Headquarters AFM Anjuman Kamal in a letter on February 24 informed that in 2023, 488 police personnel will receive the second prestigious A badge in recognition of meritorious and good work.
Earlier on Tuesday at 10:30 am, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Police Week-2024 through annual police parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground.
He inspected and saluted the orderly and colorful parade of various police contingents and flag bearers. Later he gave an orientation speech to the policemen.
The Prime Minister participated in the welfare parade of policemen. Then from December 1, 2022 to January 10, 2024, a total of 400 policemen were awarded BPM and PPM medals in recognition of their meritorious work.
Police Week-2024 will start on Tuesday and continue till March 3 in a colorful manner. The theme of this year’s Police Week is ‘Smart Police, Smart Country; Bangladesh of Peaceful Progress’.
