Mustafiz in hospital with head injuries

Comilla Victorians’ pacer Mustafizur Rahman was seriously injured after being hit by a ball on the head. The incident took place this morning during practice at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

There is no game in BPL today. However, before facing the Sylhet Strikers, Comilla Victorians cricketers came to practice at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium this (Sunday) morning. Mustafiz was playing in the net there.

With one delivery, Mustafiz was going back to his bowling mark, to deliver another devilry. At that time Comilla’s head coach Salahuddin called him. As he turned his head to answer the coach’s call, Asha hit Mustafiz’s head from behind with a shot from the other net.

This left-handed cutting master of the national team immediately collapsed on the field. Blood can also be seen coming out of the head. The doctors of the team quickly came and arranged to give first aid.

Finally, he was quickly taken to Apollo Imperial Hospital in Chittagong. The extent of the injury is yet to be ascertained. This information will be known only after the tests in the hospital.

Mustafiz has played 9 matches in this year’s BPL so far. His victim was 11 wickets. 3 wickets with 32 runs was the best bowling of Mustafiz in this year’s BPL.
