Diseases are increasing in intense heat. Earnings of working people are falling. All educational institutions are closed for a week.

Director of Meteorological Department. Azizur Rahman said, the heatwave started at the end of March. It runs without any breaks. There is no chance of a break in the heat wave for the rest of April. It may continue like this till 3/4 of May next. Then there is a chance of some light rain.

He said, last year there was no continuous heat wave throughout the month of April. There were some breaks. Last year saw heat wave for 19 consecutive days. This time the whole month of April is going beyond it.

Azizur Rahman said, according to the information we have, there has never been a heat wave for such a long period before. This is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that heatwave has been going on for so long. It has already broken all the records, but it will continue. At least for the next 4/5 days.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said that the heat wave has been blowing since the beginning of this month, but it had subsided somewhere in between.

He said, earlier in 2019, Chuadanga experienced 23 consecutive mild to moderate heatwaves. After that, the heat wave of the highest duration is going on this year. Apart from this, heat waves do not usually last for such a long time in April.
