Lalmonirhat 5 BNP leaders in jail in Jahangir’s murder case

The court has sent five BNP leaders to jail in the murder case of Sramik League leader Jahangir Alam in Lalmonirhat.

On Wednesday (April 24), the district and session judge appeared in the court and ordered the defendants to be sent to prison after rejecting the bail application.  Mizanur Rahman.

The accused are- General Secretary of Mahendranagar Union BNP of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila Abdul Wahab Mondal, Organizing Secretary of the same committee Afzal Hossain, Organizing Secretary of Jubo Dal of the same union Shahanur Alam Sujan, Joint Secretary of Swachsevak Dal Sohag Patwari and President of the same union Chhatra Dal Saddam Hossain.

According to the court police, Jahangir Alam, the leader of Sadar Upazila Load-Unload Sramik Union, was injured in a clash during BNP’s strike on October 29 last year.  He was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.  He died there while undergoing treatment.  In this incident, on November 1 of that year, a murder case was filed in Sadar police station, citing the names of 81 people, accusing Asadul Habib Dulu, the organizing secretary of the central BNP.
