The monthly meeting of the Maheshkhali Upazila Law and Order Committee of Cox’s Bazar has been held.
The meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Thursday (July 30) at 11 am under the auspices of the Upazila administration.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. The meeting, chaired by Imran Mahmud Dalim, was attended by Maheshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdus Soltan, Maheshkhali Upazila BNP Convener Abu Bakkar Siddique, Maheshkhali Range Officer Humayun Kabir, Baro Maheshkhali Union Parishad Chairman Enayet Ullah Babul, Maheshkhali Press Club President Joynal Abedin, Maheshkhali Online Press Club President Hobaib Sajeeb, Upazila Press Club President Faruk Iqbal, MP Alamgir Mohammad Mahfuz Ullah Farid’s personal assistant Tarique Rahman Jewel, Hoanok Union Parishad Panel Chairman Selim Sikder, representatives of the Coast Guard, members of various law enforcement agencies and officials from various departments of the upazila administration.
The meeting discussed in detail the prevention of drug trafficking, closure of illegal cottage zones in Sonadia, prevention of illegal sand mining and further strengthening of anti-terrorism operations to improve the overall law and order situation in Maheshkhali.
The speakers at the meeting said that the coordinated efforts of the administration, law enforcement agencies and the public are very important to maintain the law and order situation. Emphasis was placed on increasing intelligence activities, conducting regular operations and raising public awareness to suppress crime.
In the chairman’s speech, the UNO said that the administration is always sincere in maintaining overall peace and order in Maheshkhali. Regular operations against drugs, terrorism, extortion and other criminal activities will continue.
At this time, Maheshkhali Police Station OC Mohammad Abdus Soltan sought the cooperation of journalists working in Maheshkhali in increasing public awareness in suppressing crime as well as publishing information-based, objective and public interest news. He said that the coordinated efforts of the administration and the media can play an important role in further improving the law and order situation. He sought everyone’s cooperation in this regard.
