Changes in Hajj Visa: Saudi Arabia government introduced new rules

Saudi Arabia has imposed new regulations on Hajj visas.  The country’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs said in an announcement that only Jeddah, Medina and Mecca cities can be visited with this visa.
 According to the announcement, pilgrims participating in the Hajj in 2024 will be able to travel to the cities of Jeddah, Madinah and Makkah only with a Hajj visa.
 The Hajj visa is not valid for any work, residence or travel outside the designated city in Saudi Arabia, the ministry said.  Violators of these restrictions may not be allowed to participate in Hajj in the future.  He may also be expelled from the country.
 The ministry also said that international visitors who want to perform Hajj outside the Gulf Cooperation Council countries must obtain a Hajj visa.  Hajj visa is valid for Hajj season only.  The new rules prohibit those who have obtained Hajj visas from performing Umrah or any kind of financial or unpaid work during this period.
 The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of Saudi Arabia has launched electronic registration through the visa platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.  To apply for Hajj visa, login to the visa platform, select the appropriate service and submit the required documents.
 The ministry advises to apply for the visa in advance by complying with all the regulations as it usually takes up to three working days to complete the entire process.
