Gazi Gias Uddin Bashir, Jhalakathi Correspondent: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has held a protest march and rally in Jhalakathi demanding implementation of July National Charter, improvement of law and order situation and trial of July genocide.
District Jamaat-e-Islami organized this program as part of the central program on Saturday (August 1) afternoon. The protest march started from in front of the municipal stadium and circled the main roads of the city. Later, a rally was held there.
District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Advocate Hafizur Rahman, District Secretary Principal Mu. Faridul Haque, Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate ABM Aminul Islam and Sadar Upazila Ameer Maulana Moniruzzaman Talukder addressed the rally.
The speakers demanded the speedy implementation of the July National Charter, improvement of the law and order situation in the country and ensuring justice for the July massacre. They also called on everyone to remain united in establishing democracy, justice and people’s rights.
Leaders and activists of various branches and associate organizations of the district, upazila and Jamaat-e-Islami participated in the program.
