The Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection has fined four business establishments Tk 10,500 for various crimes including keeping expired products in Dumki of Patuakhali, selling at excessive price.
In the operation conducted by Assistant Director of District Consumer Rights Protection Directorate Shah Md Swaib Miah yesterday on Tuesday around 12 noon, fines of Tk 10,500 were collected from four businesses named Noor Pharmacy, Rabbi Medical Hall, Janata Medical Hall and M/s Mridha Brothers of Pirtala Bazar. A fine of Tk 7,500 has been imposed for keeping expired medicines in 3 pharmacies, deducting the fixed price on the medicine wrapper and selling them at a higher price, and Tk 3,000 for selling products at a higher price than the fixed price in grocery stores.
