Shafiq Dhali : A total of 7 accused in various cases including 4,620 pieces of Yaba tablets and 7.5 kg of marijuana have been arrested in a separate operation by the Daudkandi Model Police Station in Comilla. Among the arrested are 2 people in drug cases, 3 people in robbery cases, 1 person under GR arrest warrant and 1 person under CR arrest warrant. A private car has been recovered.
Under the direction of Daudkandi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Sajedul Islam, different teams of the police station conducted separate operations and arrested the accused.
Police said that during a special operation in the Gouripur area, SI (unarmed) Minhajul Islam along with his officers and forces arrested two people named Md. Hridoy Hossain (26) and Taslima (25) along with 3,680 pieces of Yaba tablets and 7.5 kg of marijuana from the Dhaka-bound road in front of the Upazila Health Complex of Gouripur Union at around 10:30 pm on July 29.
On the other hand, while SI (unarmed) Rizwanul Islam was on Special-11 duty with his forces, he recovered 940 pieces of Yaba tablets and a private car from the Dhaka-bound lane about 100 yards west of the new toll plaza of the Meghna-Gomti Bridge at around 5:50 am on July 30.
Meanwhile, during a special operation in the Gouripur area, SI (unarmed) Minhajul Islam along with his officers and forces arrested three accused in a robbery case, Md. Zakir Hossain Rana (39), Md. Dulal Sharif (46) and Md. Rubel Mia (38) were arrested.
In addition, ASI (Unarmed) Selim Mia conducted a special operation along with the accompanying force and arrested the accused Md. Habib (38) who was under GR arrest warrant from Shahidnagar area at around 10:30 pm on July 29.
On the other hand, ASI (Unarmed) Sujan Kanti Mia, while on duty in Goalmari-11, arrested the accused Mosa. Parusha who was under CR arrest warrant from Maruka area at around 2:30 am on July 30.
After taking necessary legal action against the arrested accused, they were sent to the learned court.
