Law Minister Anisul Haque said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dreamed of an independent and strong judiciary. Where the people seeking justice will get only justice. Bangabandhu not only dreamed of this but he created a legal framework for Bangladesh after independence. But after the brutal killings of August 15, 1975, Bangabandhu’s dream could not be fulfilled during the military rule.
Law Minister Anisul Haque said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the new building of the 8-story Drishtinandan Chief Judicial Magistrate Court through video conference from the office room of the Parliament building today (February 25) at noon.
The minister said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took several groundbreaking steps to eliminate the problems of the judiciary when the Awami League government came to power in 2009. One of the steps in the first phase of the Chief Judicial Magistrate is the construction of Chief Judicial Magistrate courts with modern facilities in 41 districts at a cost of Tk 2,260,340,000. Its construction work has already been completed. And the Chief Judicial Magistrate courts will be inaugurated in 38 more districts. An 8-storey building constructed at a cost of Tk 56 crore 64 lakh was inaugurated in Pirojpur.
The minister also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political commitment is to build a happy, prosperous, smart Bangladesh by 2041. Prime Minister is working non-stop to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream. Due to his efficient and visionary leadership, many mega projects including Padma Bridge Karnaphuli Tunnel, Metro Rail, Third Terminal of Hazrat Shah Jalal Airport, Elevated Expressway, Rooppur Nuclear Project have been implemented. Bangladesh has been recognized as a role model in the world in terms of development. In continuation of that, there will be further development in Pirojpur. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s past 15 years of development speed, nature, economy, politics, economics, social policy, everything can be judged and analyzed.
Earlier, Law Minister Anisul Haque inaugurated the new building of the 8-storey Drishtinandan Chief Judicial Magistrate Court through video conference from the office room of Sangsad Bhavan. On the other hand, the opening ceremony was organized in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner at Pirojpur end.
Along with the announcement of the inauguration by Law Minister Anisur Haque, the (temporary) inauguration plaque installed in the conference room was unveiled by Member of Parliament of Pirojpur-1 Constituency Sh. Saha and District Judge Mohammad Moktagir Alam.
The public works department has implemented the work of this building built at a cost of 56 crore 64 lakh taka. Lawyers and litigants believe that if the court proceedings start in this 8-storey building, besides solving the crisis of the courtroom, the speed of the judicial process will increase.
For the convenience of judges, lawyers and litigants, there are 22 courtrooms, 500 KB substation for uninterrupted power supply, 3 state-of-the-art lifts, state-of-the-art library, conference room, breast feeding corner, prayer room and judges’ private room. There are also necessary office rooms, waiting rooms and washroom facilities with separate toilets for men and women.
Under the chairmanship of Law and Judiciary Department, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Mohammad Golam Sarwar, Member of Parliament for Pirojpur-1 Constituency Sh. Joint Secretary) Bikash Kumar Saha and District Judge Mohammad Moktagir Alam, District Commissioner Md Zahedur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shariful Islam, District Bar Association President Khan Mohammad Alauddin, General Secretary MD Awal.
Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Zahurul Islam, Sub-Divisional Engineer Mosultan Mahmud Shaikat, Sub-Divisional Engineer E/M Morraqib Hossain, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Kanai Lal Biswas and others were present.
