​Mirsarai Correspondent : ​Police in Zorarganj, Chattogram, have arrested two notorious terrorists along with a semi-automatic foreign pistol, a magazine, nine rounds of live ammunition, several sharp domestic weapons, and banned Indian cough syrup during a late-night drive.
​The drive was conducted late on Sunday (August 2) under the leadership of Zorarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Halim, alongside Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Faruk Uddin and a police team, acting on a tip-off.
​The arrestees have been identified as Borhan Uddin (34), son of Abul Kashem from East Hinguli village, and Md. Rahim Ullah Roni (35), son of late Mohammad Ullah from Chhatarua village under No. 1 Korerhat Union.
​According to the police, the raid was carried out around 2:20 AM at Borhan’s residence in East Hinguli under No. 2 Hinguli Union, where Borhan and his associate Roni were apprehended red-handed.
​Upon searching the premises and the suspects, police recovered:
​1 black 7.62 mm semi-automatic foreign pistol
​1 silver magazine
​9 rounds of live ammunition
​2 long knives with wooden handles and 1 folding switchblade
​Banned Indian Eskuf syrup bottles
​Police sources revealed that Borhan Uddin has at least nine pending cases against him at Zorarganj and Mirsarai police stations, including charges of attempted murder, offenses under the Explosive Substances Act, and the Special Powers Act. Meanwhile, Rahim Ullah Roni faces nine trial-stage cases related to drug trade and theft across Zorarganj, Lohagara, Patiya, Chhagalnaiya, Ramu, and Sitakunda police stations.
​Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Halim stated that fresh cases under the Arms Act and Narcotics Control Act have been filed against the duo, and they have been sent to jail through the honorable court. He added that such anti-crime drives will continue in the public interest
