Workshop on Nutrition Security and Farm Management at Bangladesh Agricultural University

A workshop was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) to increase the capacity of the university’s farms and ensure the nutritional security of students.

The workshop was organized by the BAU Teachers’ Association on Thursday (July 23) morning in the meeting room of the Teachers’ Complex. The event was chaired by the President of the Teachers’ Association, Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sardar, and moderated by Professor Dr. Javidul Haque Bhuiyan. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan was present as the main sponsor and Student Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Haque was the special guest. At the beginning of the program, prayers were conducted in memory of the historic July martyrs of 2024. In the workshop, the main article was presented by the General Secretary of the Teachers’ Association, Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar, based on the survey data conducted on 186 undergraduate and postgraduate students of BKU, where he highlighted the current eating habits, nutritional status of the students and specific recommendations to overcome it. In his speech as the chief sponsor, VC Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan expressed the administration’s commitment to building a talented nation by ensuring the nutrition of the students and emphasized on increasing the productivity of the university’s own farms as well as integrated management. Deans of various faculties, provosts of halls, teachers, treasurers, officials and student representatives were present at the event and participated in the discussion.
