Md. Moniruzzaman:
Minister of Railways and State Minister for Road Transport and Highways Habibur Rashid MP inspected the construction of Bailey bridge over Brahmaputra River, overpass construction site and dilapidated railway station in Kacharighat, Mymensingh to improve the communication system and reduce traffic congestion.
During this inspection on Thursday (May 14) morning, he was accompanied by Mymensingh-4 constituency MP Abu Wahab Akand Wahid, Mymensingh-5 constituency MP Zakir Hossain Bablu, Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Rukunozzaman Rokon and concerned officials. After the inspection, the State Minister delivered a speech as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting in the hall of Mymensingh City Corporation. Speaking in the hall, State Minister Habibur Rashid MP said, “The current government is working relentlessly to modernize and accelerate the communication system in every region of the country. It is the demand of the hour to install a Bailey Bridge over the Brahmaputra River to ease traffic congestion in the Mymensingh divisional city and alleviate the long-standing suffering of the people of the Kacharighat area. At the same time, we have a plan to build overpasses at major points in the city, which we will implement quickly. I have personally seen the poor condition of the Mymensingh railway station and understood the suffering of the passengers. Renovation work will start very soon to transform the station into a modern and passenger-friendly model station. We have not come to just make promises, but we will present these projects to the people of Mymensingh as soon as possible. I have instructed the concerned officials to work in a coordinated manner with the local public representatives and the City Corporation in this regard.”
