Lalmonirhat Attempt to kill husband by slitting throat wife arrested

A wife has been accused of attempting to kill her husband by slitting his throat in Babupara area of ​​Lalmonirhat Municipality. The young man named Hridoy (24) has been admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in a seriously injured condition. Police have arrested the accused wife Umme Jannat Sathi (26) in this incident. However, during the incident, the wife Sathi was also injured and has been admitted to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital, according to the police.
The incident took place on Wednesday (May 13) afternoon in the area adjacent to Gausia Mosque in Babupara area of ​​the city. The injured Hridoy is the son of Ershad Huzur of that area.
Local sources and police said that there had been a family dispute between the husband and wife for a long time.  It is alleged that during an argument between them over a domestic matter on the day of the incident, Umme Jannat Sathi stabbed her husband Hridoy in the throat with a sharp knife about 9 to 10 inches long.
Hearing Hridoy’s screams, her mother first rushed to the scene. Later, locals came forward and rescued him in a bloody state. Later, he was quickly taken to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital. After receiving primary treatment, he was transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment as his condition deteriorated.
Upon receiving the information about the incident, Lalmonirhat Sadar Police reached the spot and arrested the accused wife. At that time, the blood-stained sharp knife used in the attack was also recovered. Police said that Umme Jannat Sathi was also bleeding from her body at the time of the incident. Later, with the help of female police and family members, she was admitted to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital.
Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station OC Saad Ahmed said that upon receiving the information, the police went to the spot and arrested the accused wife. At that time, the blood-stained sharp knife used in the attack was recovered.  The cause of the incident is being investigated and legal action is underway.
