South Keraniganj in drug dealer arrested with 596 pieces of Yaba

Staff Reporter: RAB-10 has arrested a drug dealer with 596 pieces of Yaba worth about 178,800 taka during a raid in Hasnabad area of ​​South Keraniganj, Dhaka.

On Saturday (August 1), at approximately 7:50 pm, an operation team of RAB-10’s CPSC, Lalbagh Camp conducted the raid in Hasnabad area under South Keraniganj police station based on a secret tip-off.

The name of the arrested person is Md. Mamun Mridha (46). He is the son of Md. Sahab Uddin Mridha of Bashkanda area of ​​Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district. A mobile phone was also recovered from him during the raid.

RAB said that during the initial interrogation, it was revealed that Mamun Mridha is a professional drug dealer. He had been illegally collecting various drugs including Yaba from the border areas of the country for a long time and supplying them to different areas of the country including South Keraniganj.

The process of handing over the arrested person with the recovered Yaba to the concerned police station is under process for filing a case against him under the Narcotics Control Act.

RAB-10 said that they are working with utmost professionalism and sincerity to implement the ‘zero tolerance’ policy to eradicate drugs. RAB’s operations against drugs, weapons, terrorism and extortion will continue in the future as well.
