Business Correspondent : In recognition of his business excellence, social responsibility and unique contribution to the cultural arena, prominent real estate entrepreneur Salman Mahmud, Managing Director of Kunj Developers, has been honored with the ‘Global Brands-Trab Business CSR and Cultural Award-2025’.
The award ceremony and a delightful cultural evening were held in a colorful and grand atmosphere at the Crystal Ballroom of the prestigious Hotel Intercontinental in the capital Dhaka.
The program was attended by Social Welfare Minister Dr. Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain MP as the chief guest.
The Minister for Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury was present as the inaugurator. State Minister for Road Transport, Bridges and Railways Habibur Rashid Habib MP, Barisal City Corporation Administrator Advocate Bilkis Akhter Jahan Shirin, BNP Training Affairs Secretary and Member of Parliament ABM Mosharraf Hossain and Member of Parliament Rafiqul Alam Majnu, along with prominent figures from various fields of the country, were present as special guests.
Also present at the event were The Premier Bank PLC Chairman Dr. Arifur Rahman, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Managing Director and former President of the National Press Club Kamal Uddin Sabuj, Rehab President Dr. Ali Afzal, Notundhara Group Managing Director Dr. Md. Sadi-uz-Zaman, Boishakhi Television Managing Director Md. Rafiqul Amin, NTV Director Alhaj Nuruddin Ahmed, and prominent figures from the business, culture and media fields.

Legendary singer Sabina Yasmin and chef Keka Ferdousi were awarded lifetime achievement awards at the event. In addition, late singer Bashir Ahmed and late Ali Ahmed, pioneer of Bangladesh’s beauty industry, were awarded posthumously.

Salman Mahmud; A very talented and hardworking business personality of the current young generation. Currently, he is serving as the Managing Director of the family-owned housing company Kunju Group and Kunju Developers Ltd. A bright star personality of the country’s industry, Salman Mahmud was born on October 24, 1889, in an elite educated industrial family. His father is a nationally renowned club personality Nasir U Mahmud, who is the founding chairman of Kunju Group. His mother is Mrs. Linufa Mahmud. Since childhood, Salman Mahmud, who has an energetic and innovative spirit, has been watching his father, a nationally renowned industry personality Nasir U Mahmud, conduct business through strict rules and regulations. This has also left its mark on Salman Mahmud. Keeping his father’s ideals in mind, he always loves to keep himself busy in the business development and expansion of the group. The lively and talented Salman Mahmud was very focused on his studies. Salman Mahmud’s formal education began at BF Shaheen School, a renowned educational institution in Dhaka. He studied in this school till the seventh grade. Then he enrolled in Scholastica. From here, he completed his ‘O’ Level in 2007 and ‘A’ Level in 2009. He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with distinction from the London School of Commerce (LSC) in Dhaka.
After completing his higher education, he joined his father’s Kunju Developers Ltd. as a Director (Marketing). Later, seeing his dedication to duty, his father Nasir U Mahmud gave Salman Mahmud the responsibility of Managing Director. Kunju Developers has been serving the housing industry of Bangladesh with dedication for almost two decades. With the dedicated efforts of Salman Mahmud’s father, Nasir U Mahmud, a nationally renowned club personality, this organization is the pride of the housing industry today. The contribution of this organization in establishing the country’s housing business on a dignified foundation will be exemplary for the next generation.
Handsome young Salman Mahmud is the elected Finance Director of the highly prestigious Uttara Club of the society. Earlier, he served as an executive member of this club for the term of 2023-24. In addition, he has also served as an active member of several social organizations including Dhaka Boat Club, Banani Club.
It is worth noting that in recognition of his business success, he was recently awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 by the South Asian Business Partnership and the Global Aviation and Tourism Journalists Association, held in the Maldives.
