A 10-foot-long python has been rescued in the Char Krishamat Phulbari area of ​​Buraburi Union in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram.
On Tuesday (July 28) morning, panic and excitement spread throughout the area when the snake was seen near the locality.
Locals said that people suddenly saw the python near the locality in the morning. When the news spread, hundreds of people from the surrounding area flocked to the spot. Later, the locals carefully brought the snake under control and informed the Forest Department.
A crowd of people gathered eager to see the python. Many took pictures and videos of the snake and posted them on social media.
Locals said that such a big python snake has never been seen in this area before. The snake is about 10-12 feet long. After the incident, panic spread among children and women.
The Forest Department said that pythons are protected wildlife in Bangladesh. If such a snake is seen or rescued, it should be reported to the Forest Department or the concerned authorities without harming it, so that it can be safely rescued and released into the natural environment.
District Forest Department officer Sadiqur Rahman said, “Upon receiving the information, a team of ours went to the spot and rescued the 10-foot-long python. After the necessary health check-up, it will be handed over to the Rangpur Zoo.”
