The board of trustees and executive committee of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters’ Welfare Trust have been reconstituted. State Minister for Liberation War Affairs and Dhaka-6 MP Ishraq Hossain has been included as a trustee and member of the executive committee in the reconstituted board of trustees.
The board of trustees was reconstituted as per sub-section (1) of section 8 of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters’ Welfare Trust Act, 2018, and the executive committee was reconstituted as per section 13.
The notification and order issued by the order of the President was signed by Mohammad Moniruzzaman Bakaul, Joint Secretary (Administration-1).
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has been made the chairman of the reconstituted board of trustees. Ahmed Azam Khan, MP, Minister of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, has been appointed as the vice-chairman.
Apart from this, Kishoreganj-4 MP Md. Fazlur Rahman, Comilla-6 MP Md. Monirul Haque Chowdhury and Noakhali-2 MP Zainul Abdin Faruk have been appointed as trustees.
In addition, Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has been appointed as the chairman of the executive committee. The committee members are Md. Fazlur Rahman (Kishoreganj-4), Md. Monirul Haque Chowdhury (Comilla-6), Zainul Abdin Faruk (Noakhali-2).
Apart from this, the Secretary of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance; Secretary of the Ministry of Industries; Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Managing Director of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust have been included in the board of trustees and the executive committee ex officio. The Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has been made the member-secretary of the trustee board and the managing director of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust has been made the member-secretary of the executive committee.
The order states that this order, issued with the approval of the appropriate authority, will come into effect immediately.
