Towhid Hossain Sarkar, Comilla :Â Social worker and humanitarian leader stands by a homeless daily wage worker, setting a shining example of humanitarian assistance
Jamaat-e-Islami Comilla Metropolitan Nayeb-e-Ameer, prominent industrialist Professor AKM Emdadul Haque Mamun, Chairman of Insaf Housing and Developers Pvt. Ltd. provided tin for the construction of a house for helpless daily wage laborer Eshak Mia in Krishnapur village, Ward No. 4, Jagannathpur Union No. 6, Adarsha Sadar Upazila of Comilla.
According to local sources, Eshak Mia’s family, who had been living a subhuman life for a long time, had nowhere to go. Upon learning of his plight, Professor Mamun quickly extended his hand of cooperation. Tin was provided on his initiative, which has garnered widespread praise in the area. Union Secretary Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman presided over the function, which was also attended by Union Amir Md. Jamal Hossain, Ward President Mir Shahadat Hossain, Ward Secretary Kamrul Hasan Kausar, Transport Workers Federation leader Md. Masud Rana, Kamalpur Unit Secretary Abdus Samad Liton, Kalikapur Unit Secretary Shah-Newaz Robin, prominent social worker Ayub Ali of Kamalpur and other dignitaries of the area.
Also present were leaders from various levels of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its affiliates.
At the time, the speakers said that Professor Mamun has always been working alongside the helpless and poor people. They expressed hope that his humanitarian initiative will inspire the wealthy in the society to come forward.
Professor Mamun said, “It is our responsibility to alleviate the suffering of people. The capable in society should stand by the helpless.”
