Pirojpur District Information Office Press Briefing on Government’s Developmental Programs as per Election Manifesto

‎Pirojpur District Information Office has shown incredible success at the field level in implementing the current government’s election manifesto and development programs. This office has achieved its set 100% target by successfully implementing the special action plan of the last three months. At the same time, the visible district-wise progress of various public welfare mega projects including family cards, smart agricultural cards in the district has been published at the initiative of Pirojpur District Information Office.
‎On May 20 (2026 AD), a press briefing was held jointly organized by the District Administration and District Information Office, Pirojpur at the Shaheed Abdur Razzak-Saif Mizan Memorial Conference Room of the Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
‎​Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed was present as the chief guest at the event. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Alauddin Bhuiyan Jani was present as the special guest. Deputy Director of the District Information Office Parikshit Chowdhury presided over the program and Assistant Director Saifuddin Al Madani delivered the welcome speech and moderated it.
The District Information Office’s unique record in three months It was informed in the press briefing that Pirojpur District Information Office has conducted a record number of publicity activities in the last three months to convey the government’s development message to the marginalized population. In this short period of time, the District Information Office has successfully completed 11 courtyard meetings or community meetings, 2 women’s gatherings, 1 family gathering, 1 farmer gathering, 1 press briefing and 1 quiz competition. In addition, Pirojpur District Information Office has successfully completed 10 live documentaries, 80 film and documentary exhibitions and 50 online publicity activities of the government’s development activities in rural areas, in each of which 100 percent target has been achieved.

‎​ The District Information Office and the local administration are going to start this special program of financial assistance to poor women at the field level as a pilot project in Pirojpur soon.
‎​2,112 farmers in Nesarabad Upazila of the district have already come under the direct government benefits through this digital card. The local agricultural bank has started the work of verifying the information regarding the waiver of loans up to 10 thousand taka with interest for small and marginal farmers.
‎​Re-excavation work of 12 canals is underway in various areas including Bhandaria of the district and a demand for about 17 thousand trees has been sent for 896 educational institutions to protect the environment.

‎In the press briefing, journalists were called upon to play a leading role as watchdogs in combating ‘rumors and misinformation’ spread through social media and other means. The speakers said that malicious circles spread rumors to create chaos in the society. Under the direction of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a strong ‘Rumor Prevention Cell’ is being formed soon in coordination with the Pirojpur District Information Office and the district administration. Local media workers are specially requested to fact check any suspicious or controversial information two or three times before publishing it.
Leading journalists from various print, electronic and online media working in Pirojpur district were present at the briefing.
