Md. Moniruzzaman :

Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) Administrator Md. Rukunozzaman Rokon held a meeting with journalists, highlighting his achievements in the 60 days of assuming office. During this meeting, he assured that all kinds of steps will be taken for the development of the city under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He formally held this meeting with journalists working at the local level at the MCC conference room today (Wednesday, May 20) at 2 pm.

Seeking the cooperation of journalists in the development activities of the city, the MCC Administrator said at the meeting that the main problem of this city is waterlogging. Solving this was the big challenge of the City Corporation. 64 days have passed since I assumed office as the administrator. During this time, I have identified the main problems of the city and worked day and night. The waterlogging problem has already been resolved to a large extent. The canals are now flowing water. However, planned work is underway for a permanent solution.

At this time, claiming to be a political activist, he also said, “I have become an administrator from a political activist. I want to change myself and change the city. I want to work for the welfare of the people. I want to stop extortion at the CNG bus stand and finish the Arch Bridge quickly.” You can write against me, but I will rescue government land. There is no chance of sacrificing the traffic congestion in Charpara. The traffic congestion in Charpara will be resolved at any cost. However, the drug situation in the city is terribly bad. It is almost uncertain what the future of our generation will be. Therefore, I seek the full cooperation of the administration and the media in eradicating drugs.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the administrator said that to ensure the normal life of the city, we have to close our ears and work on the ground for justice and fairness. The city’s problems will not be solved by sitting in an AC room. In this case, the criticism of two, four or five people will not stop my path. This is my city, I grew up in this city, I will not hesitate to take any step to protect the heritage of this city.

Also present at the meeting were Mosik Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Miah, Chief Waste Management Officer Mosha: Shirin Sultana, General Manager of Transport Branch Rajib ul Ahsan, Regional Executive Officer Nahid Hasan Khan, Administrative Officer Aminul Islam Jahangir, etc.

Earlier, the Mosik Administrator presented a pictorial protest of more than a hundred development projects in the city in the past 60 days, including canal excavation, cleanliness drive, improvement of law and order, traffic congestion relief and road inauguration, drainage development system.
