A video conference has been organized in Jhalokati to mark the birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman was virtually involved in this program organized by the district administration.

A special discussion meeting and cultural program was organized on the second floor of the Jhalokati Deputy Commissioner’s office at 10 am on Thursday (July 2) to mark the birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman was virtually involved in this program organized by the district administration as the chief guest.

Jhalokati Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin presided over the program.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Kawsar Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police S. M. Bayazid Ibn Akbar, senior officials of the administration, representatives of various government departments, eminent personalities and cultural workers.

The event discussed the life, literary works, equality, humanity and non-communal spirit of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The speakers said that Nazrul’s literature and philosophy still inspire the establishment of justice, equality and human values ​​in society.

In his virtual speech, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized on building a society without discrimination by embodying the ideals, message of equality and spirit of harmony of the national poet.

At the end of the event, a cultural performance was performed in memory of the national poet, paying tribute to his literature and music.
