Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Bangladesh Agricultural University and China Agricultural University

A historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) and China Agricultural University (CAU) with the aim of improving the quality of education and research and expanding mutual cooperation.

Today (July 2, 2026) Thursday afternoon, the formalities of signing this agreement were completed in a very grand atmosphere at the meeting room of the Vice-Chancellor Secretariat of the university. The Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, renowned educationist Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, was present as the chief guest at this bilateral agreement signing ceremony. At this time, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. Md. Bahanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Professor Dr. G. M. Mujibur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammad Amirul Islam, and on behalf of China Agricultural University, Professor Dr. Xuili Xu, CIDGA, CAU and Professor Dr. Chuanhong Zhang, CIDGA, CAU. Also present as the local coordinators of the MoU and the Hub were Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Quader, Professor of the Department of Agricultural Science, BAU, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Professor of the Department of Agribusiness and Marketing, BAU, and senior officials of the university. According to this bilateral MoU, Bangladesh Agricultural University and China Agricultural University have pledged to work jointly in the fields of education and advanced agricultural research. This agreement will serve as a strong foundation and platform for faculty and student exchange, joint research, high-quality research publications, modern training programs, organizing international conferences and other mutually beneficial academic and research cooperation between the two leading universities of the two countries, which will further strengthen the long-term strategic partnership of both universities and will be expanded to a wider scope, especially through CAU’s College of International Development and Global Agriculture (CIDGA). In the next part of the agreement signing ceremony, the guests went to the 3rd floor of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Agriculture, BKU, and there, through the unveiling of a grand plaque, the formal and solemn inauguration of the “CAU Hub for Country and Region Studies” in Bangladesh was announced, which, the experts concerned expressed their hope, will further expand the horizons of agricultural education and research in the two countries in the coming days.
