Moulvibazar Online Press Club exchanged views with Md. Monirul Islam, who joined as Moulvibazar’s Police Superintendent. This exchange meeting was held in the conference room of the Police Superintendent’s office on Thursday (July 2, 2026). The meeting discussed mutual cooperation between the district police and journalists and the law and order situation in the district. At this time, Police Superintendent Md. Monirul Islam expressed a strong commitment to adopt a zero tolerance policy against drugs. He said, “Drugs are a terrible curse for society and the young generation. The district police is in a strict position to eradicate drugs. However, it is not possible for the police alone to eradicate drugs. In this regard, social awareness and objective information and cooperation of journalists are very important.” He laid special emphasis on joint efforts to prevent drugs. The journalists presented various suggestions on the current situation of drug trafficking in the district and its remedies and assured the police of all kinds of cooperation.
