In a unique initiative aimed at building a greener Bangladesh and mitigating the impact of climate change, over five hundred fruit, forest, and medicinal tree saplings were distributed among young students in Mirsarai, Chattogram. The event was organized to preserve ecological balance and instill a love for nature in young minds.
The sapling distribution program was held today at 12:00 PM in a festive atmosphere on the campus of Sunflower Grammar School, located in Shantirhat under the upazila.
Prominent industrialist, social worker, and Founder Chairman of Al Sumaiya Group (Abu Dhabi) and Bangladesh Probashi Kalyan Sangstha, Fakhrul Islam Khan, CIP, attended the event as the chief patron and personally handed over the saplings to students, teachers, guardians, and local residents.
Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation during the event, Fakhrul Islam Khan said:
”A tree does not just green the environment; it silently works to protect human life, health, and our future. In this era of climate change, every citizen—especially the younger generation—should plant at least one tree and ensure its proper care.”
The event was attended by teachers, students, parents, and local dignitaries. Organizers shared that the initiative was designed to foster a deep connection between young students and nature from an early age. Alongside distributing the saplings, the organizers also urged everyone to ensure that the newly planted trees are properly nurtured to grow.
