With the theme “I build dreams for girls, fight bravely, work for the welfare of the country,” the National Girl Child Day was celebrated at the Gouripur Upazila Officers Club on Wednesday (October 8) at 11 am.
Hafsa Begum recited the Quran at the beginning of the program held under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Afia Amin Pappa and moderated by Upazila Women Affairs Officer Rehana Akhter Khatun.
Primary Education Officer Anjuman Ara Begum delivered the welcome speech. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sunanda Sarkar Proma, former president of Gouripur Press Club Beg Faruk Ahmed, Press Club President Kazi Abdullah Al Amin, General Secretary Sheikh Biplob, Upazila Social Service Officer Mahfuz Ibne Yusuf, Upazila Cooperative Officer Abdul Halim, BRAC District Coordinator Jahangir Alam, and many others spoke at the event.
Swapna Sarathi Graduation Ceremony
On the same day, the Swapna Sarathi Graduation Ceremony was held under the initiative of BRAC’s Social Empowerment and Legal Protection Program (SELP) with the theme “I have crossed eighteen, I will cross mountains too”.
The participants of the event, chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Afia Amin Pappa and moderated by District Coordinator Jahangir Alam, shared their experiences. Irin Parveen expressed her feelings at the event.
