Mymensingh Correspondent: A young man named Rana Mia (33) was killed in an organized attack over a previous dispute in the Char Ishwardia area under Kotwali Model Police Station in Mymensingh.
Mymensingh District Police arrested four accused today (Wednesday, June 3). It is worth mentioning that the clash took place in front of a grocery store in Char Ishwardia area in the afternoon (Tuesday, June 2) during a stage of the argument between the two parties. Eyewitnesses said that during the clash, Rana Mia came forward to protect his brother and was seriously injured by the opponent’s country-made weapon. Later, he was rescued and taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead at around 6:30 pm. In this incident, the elder brother of the deceased, Md. Mofazzal Hossain, has filed a murder case with the Kotwali Model Police Station, naming 10 people and 10/12 unknown people as the accused. Upon receiving the news of the murder, the police quickly visited the scene and started an investigation and have already been able to arrest four accused involved in the incident. The arrested are: Mahmudul Islam Mahin (20), son of Mofidul Islam Master of Char Iswardia Madhyapara area, Tofazzal Hossain (40), son of the deceased Ali Hossain, Md. Humayun Kabir Akash (23), son of Tofazzal Hossain, and Monirul Islam (24), son of Chan Mia.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) of the district police Md. Abdullah Al Mamun gave this information in a press release. He also said that the police are continuing a special operation to uncover the real mystery of the incident and arrest the remaining accused in the complaint. The situation is now normal.
