Moniruzzaman, Mymensingh Correspondent: After getting back the 7th century land purchased in Gouripur, Mymensingh after a long time through the court, the real owner of the land, Jasmine Begum and her family are in panic. After the administration razed the land on court order, the opponents threw signboards and poles on it.
The victim’s family, who was attacked by the opponents on Friday (June 12), seeks the cooperation of journalists and the administration.
According to the court and Gouripur Assistant Commissioner Land sources, there was a dispute between local Mosha Jasmine Begum and Jalal Uddin Gang over 7 percent of the land in Charpara Mouza of Sidhla Union of Gouripur Upazila. After a long legal process, the court declared Jasmine Begum as the owner of the land. After the verdict, the opponent said that they would appeal to the High Court. On the court’s orders, the administration evicted the land and gave it to the real owners.
Assistant Commissioner of Land of Gouripur Upazila Sunanda Sarkar Prama, Surveyor Mahfuzur Rahman and a team of police were present on behalf of the court to hand over the land.
Regarding the demolition of the poles and signboards again after getting the land back, Jasmine Begum said, “I got the land back on Thursday morning with the help of the locals and the administration. On behalf of my family, I express my gratitude to the administration and everyone who is sincerely helping me get the land back. But after the upazila administration handed over the land to me, after the court delegation left the scene in the afternoon, the defendant Jalal Uddin’s son Emdadul, Azizul, Robiqul, Habiqul and other family members threw the poles and signboards of the land up and took people and made abusive and provocative statements to the plaintiff of this case, Jasmine Begum. Due to this, the owner of the land, Jasmine Begum and her family are in panic.
Meanwhile, Saiful Islam, the nephew of the accused, said, “We do not accept this verdict. We will occupy this place again. They have brought this verdict by spending money in the court. We will appeal this case in the High Court.”
Assistant Commissioner of Land Sunanda Sarkar Prama said, “We have handed over the 7th century land of BRS Khatian 126 and rejected Khatian 197 to Jasmine Begum on the orders of the George Court. The case regarding this land has been going on in the court for a long time. The land has been confiscated by the court order. The defendant party can appeal again if they want, but if the defendant party uproots the poles and signboards of the land, legal action will be taken against them,” he said.
