Moulvibazar Correspondent:
Various fruits and trees in the garden have been burnt in a fire set by miscreants. Various signboards and names in the garden have been demolished. The incident took place on the night of March 11 at the garden house of Italian expatriate Md. Helal Ahmed, Agiun Barabari, Upper Kagabla Union No. 4, Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. The expatriate’s family has informed the Moulvibazar Model Police Station about the incident verbally and preparations are underway to file a written complaint. When asked about this, prominent social figure Italian expatriate Md. Helal Ahmed said – The country’s economy is active in exchange for remittances from expatriates. But, when one has to be harassed, humiliated and harmed in one’s own homeland, what else can one do. Our next generation will no longer want to come to Bangladesh. He expressed his sadness and said, “A garden house was built in the area to commemorate the memory of his late father, Md. Abdul Ali. When I come to the country, I sometimes come there from the city. But some people living there do not look kindly on me. There have been attempts to attack and loot the garden in the past. Due to the prompt action of the police, I was saved from them at that time. The last attempt was to demolish my garden house on the night of March 11. Several signboards were demolished. Where is our security? If the government does not provide security to the expatriates, there will be pressure on the country’s economic policy. They will not be encouraged to come to the country and send remittances.”
