‎The former president of the same association, Bishwanath Ravidas Suma, has been accused of threatening to kill Dhaneshwar Ravidas (52), the president of the convening committee of Ravidas Samiti in Lalmonirhat.
‎‎The victim of this incident, Dhaneshwar Ravidas, filed a written complaint with Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station on June 4 (Thursday).
‎‎According to the complaint, on the afternoon of June 3 (Wednesday), the accused Bishwanath Ravidas Suma came to the victim’s shop at Alorupa intersection in the city and said, “I have served as the district president of Ravidas Samiti during the previous Awami League and will continue to do so. Please stay out of my way, otherwise I will kill you.” Then, according to the complaint, the unidentified person threatened to demolish the victim’s shop if he did not resign from the organizational post as promised, and left the victim’s shop along with 3 other people.
‎When we spoke to the officer investigating the complaint, he said that the investigation is ongoing in the wake of the complaint, and necessary action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
