Joypurhat Correspondent: A 13-member executive committee has been formed for the biennial (2026-2028) executive committee of the Kalai Press Club, a traditional journalist organization in Kalai Upazila of Joypurhat.
The committee was unanimously announced at the general meeting held at the Press Club office on Saturday (August 1) at 7 pm.
Advocate Nafiutzaman Talukder Dollar (Daily Manabkantha) has been elected as the president of the newly formed committee, Vice President Md. Mizanur Rahman (Mirror News and Daily Bhorer Dak) and General Secretary Sajibul Islam Pavel (NTV Online and Daily Rupali Bangladesh).
Other responsible persons of the committee are – Joint General Secretary Abdun Nur Nahid (Daily Amader Somoy), Organizing Secretary Faruk Hossain (Daily Mukta Khabor), Office Secretary Asaduzzaman Nayan (Daily Bhorer Darpan), Publicity and Publication Secretary Tanjir Ahmed Shakib (Daily Sarejmin), Legal Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique (Daily Pratidiner Sangbad), Sports and Culture Secretary Liton Talukder (Daily Swadesh Bichitra) and Finance Secretary Md. Jahidul Islam (Daily Uttarer Darpan).
In addition, Md. Jahidul Islam (Dhaka Canvas), Abdul Hai (Bangla Edition) and Arman Hossain (Times Today) have been elected as executive members.
It is worth noting that the Kalai Press Club, established in 1991, has been playing an important role in enhancing the professional skills of journalists in the upazila, developing the media and practicing objective journalism for a long time.
