IHF Trophy Tournament 2026: Bangladesh Announces Final U-18 and U-20 Squads

The Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) has officially announced its final squads and team officials for the upcoming national Under-18 (Youth) and Under-20 (Junior) teams ahead of the prestigious International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy Tournament 2026.

​The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 14 at the Shaheed Captain M. Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Dhaka.

​Tournament Structure and Participating Nations

​The international tournament will see competitive action across two distinct age categories:

​Under-18 (Youth) Category: A total of five nations will compete in a single-group format: Afghanistan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and the host nation, Bangladesh.

​Under-20 (Junior) Category: The teams have been divided into two groups. Host Bangladesh has been placed in Group B, where they will face off against the Maldives and Afghanistan.

​Bangladesh Under-18 (Youth) Squad

​The youth team will be guided by Head Coach Mir Khairuzzaman, with Md. Kamrul Islam serving as the Team Manager. Goalkeeper Md. Asadullah Adib has been named the team captain, while Newan Chak will take on the role of vice-captain.

​U-18 Final Roster:

Md. Asadullah Adib (Captain), Newan Chak (Vice-Captain), Md. Shafiul Bashar Shafi, Birendra Tripura, Zebedai Bom, Sohag Mia, Md. Alamin Islam, David Bom, Khaicholong Marma, Md. Rifat Hossain, Al Shahriar Siam, Siam Ahmed, Rizwan Bin Faruk Onon, and Areb Ihtiram Khan.

​Bangladesh Under-20 (Junior) Squad

​The junior team will be managed by Head Coach Md. Didar Hossain, assisted by Assistant Coach Md. Sohag Hossain. The squad will be led on the pitch by Captain Md. Ratul Uddin and Vice-Captain Towfiqur Rahman.

​U-20 Final Roster:

Md. Ratul Uddin (Captain), Towfiqur Rahman (Vice-Captain), Oriksen Biswas Dip, Md. Zakaria Rahman, Md. Atik Hossain Akash, Arafat Shopnil, Md. Sohag Ali, Md. Ebadat Hossain Russel, Md. Noyon Ahmed, Md. Rayhan Hasan Rabbi, Shumal Tanchangya, Md. Abdullah Shad, Siam Islam, and Md. Roni Hasan.

​Eyes on the Championship

​The final squads were officially approved by Md. Selim Mia, Member Secretary of the National Team Development Committee of the BHF, along with committee member Md. Kamrul Islam.

​With the advantage of playing on home soil, federation officials expressed high optimism, stating that both the Bangladesh U-18 and U-20 teams are entering the tournament with a singular focus: clinching the championship titles.
