The 78th founding anniversary of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and ‘Engineers Day-2026’ were celebrated in Dinajpur with various programs and a festive atmosphere.
The day’s program began on Thursday (May 07) morning by hoisting the national flag and IEB flag at the Road Circle office of the Dinajpur Roads and Highways Department. Later, oath-taking, a colorful rally, cutting of the anniversary cake and a discussion meeting were held.
Chairman of IEB Dinajpur Center and Superintendent Engineer of Dinajpur Road Circle Md. Mahbubul Alam Khan were present as the chief guest at the program.
Honorary Secretary of IEB Dinajpur Center and Executive Engineer of Dinajpur LGED Md. Masudur Rahman delivered the welcome speech.
The speakers at the discussion meeting emphasized the important role of engineers in the country’s infrastructure development, use of modern technology and national development. At the same time, they called for the development of skilled and humane engineers.
The meeting was addressed by Engineer Abu Ahmed Zafrullah, Engineer ABM Humayun Kabir, Engineer Md. Hasnat Zaman, Engineer Md. Asaduzzaman, Engineer Md. Moniruzzaman Sarkar, Engineer Faruk Ahmed, Engineer Md. Shamim Akhtar, Engineer Md. Belal Ahmed, Engineer Md. Murad Hossain, Engineer Firoz Ahmed, Assistant Professor Md. Shafiqul Islam and IT Engineer Mohammad Saikat Ali, along with other councilor members.
The overall supervision of the program was provided by Assistant Engineer Md. Faozul Kabir, Assistant Professor Mohammad Ferdous Wahid and Engineer Md. Saikat Ali.
