A two-day training program has been completed under the ‘Union Level Fisheries Technology Service Extension Project (Phase 3)’ to enhance the skills of fish farmers in Pirojpur. The training program was organized at the Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Conference Room on May 6 and 7.

‎​Barisal Divisional Fisheries Department Director Md. Kamrul Hasan was present as the chief guest at the program organized by the Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer’s Office,
‎‎Also present were, Deputy Director Md. Mohsin, Senior Assistant Director Barisal Mohammad Anisuzzaman. Pirojpur District Fisheries Officer Sanjeev Sannamat,
‎‎​Selected exhibition and associate farmers from various unions of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila participated in the training. The workshop provided hands-on training to farmers on modern fish farming methods, especially ‘Globe-Carp Mixed Farming’, pond preparation, selection of improved varieties of fry, balanced food and fertilizer management, and fish disease and pest control.
‎​Related officials said that through this government project, modern technology is being provided to grassroots farmers. As a result, along with increasing fish production, farmers will be able to become financially self-sufficient.

‎​On the concluding day, leaflets containing various technical guidelines for fish farming were distributed to the farmers participating in the training. Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Jerin Sultana and senior district and upazila officials of the Fisheries Department were present at the event.
