Abdul Haque, Manikganj Correspondent: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita said, “I have come this far by following the path of my father’s honesty, dedication and ideals. Just as my father was blessed with your love, your cooperation and support will help me move forward in my future journey in a more beautiful and correct way.”
He made these remarks at a tribute ceremony organized on the ninth death anniversary of the late former minister Harunar Rashid Khan Munnu at Munnu City in Giland area of ​​Manikganj Sadar Upazila on Saturday (August 1) morning.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Harunar Rashid Khan Munnu’s daughter and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita paid floral tributes at her father’s grave. Later, family members paid their respects.
At this time, various institutions and organizations founded by Harunar Rashid Khan also paid tribute. These included Munnu Group, Munnu Medical College Hospital, Munnu Nursing Institute, Munnu International School and College, Munnu Fabrics, Munnu Welfare Foundation, district administration, upazila administration, district Muktijoddha Sangsad, Chamber of Commerce, district Puja Udjavan Parishad, district BNP, Jubo Dal, Krishak Dal, Chhatra Dal and various social and professional organizations.
After paying homage, Minister Afroza Khanam Rita Munnu planted a tree on the premises of the Medical College and inaugurated the foundation stone of a multi-storey building of the Medical College Hospital. She also inaugurated a free medical camp and a four-bed ICU unit of the hospital.
Local public representatives, administration officials, political leaders and activists, doctors, students, and people from different classes and professions were present at the time.
