Purified drinking water and saline have been distributed among passengers, workers and common passers-by in Barisal central bus terminal area.
Purified drinking water and saline were distributed under the direction of Barisal City Corporation Mayor Khokon Serniabat on Tuesday, April 23 under the supervision of Ward No. 20 Councilor Ziaur Rahman Biplab and Mahindra Drivers Association General Secretary Mushfiqur Rahman.
General Secretary of Mahindra Drivers Association Mushfiqur Rahman Dulal said that due to intense heat in Barisal, pure drinking water and saline are being distributed under the direction of the Honorable Mayor so that pedestrians, workers and passengers do not get sick. Activities will continue as long as this summer’s heat lasts.
Sohrab Mia, a 40-year-old rickshaw driver, said that in this intense heat, pure food with saline water is like honey for people who are hungry like us.
Shahnaz Akhter, a passenger going to Dhaka in Sakura Paribahan, said that the mayor has undoubtedly taken a good initiative in the intense heat. I welcome this initiative. But if it continues, the working people will benefit.
