Clash over land plot in Pangsha, 3 members of same family seriously injured

Pangsha Correspondent: A neighbor has been accused of hacking and injuring 3 members of the same family over a land plot in Pangsha, Rajbari. Two more people were injured during the incident.

The incident took place at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday (April 7) in Patikabari Madhyapara of Bahadurpur Union of the upazila. The injured are Abu Taleb Sardar (50), Hasan Ali (35), son of the deceased Siraj Sardar of the area, and Shariful Islam (14), younger son of Abu Taleb Sardar. The injured are Abdul Malek Sardar (43) and his daughter Meghla Akhtar (13). They are currently undergoing treatment at the Pangsha Upazila Health Complex.

It is learned that the victim’s family had a long-standing dispute with Amjad Sardar (57), his son Mamun Sardar (35), Afsar Sardar (62), his son Yasin Sardar (40), Ansar Sardar (65), and Alai Sardar (50), sons of the deceased Meher Sardar, of the same area. Last Monday (April 6), Amjad Sardar cut the edge of Abu Taleb Sardar’s land. When he protested about this, the accused attacked Abu Taleb Sardar’s house with country-made weapons at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday and seriously injured him and his family members. Later, with the help of locals and other family members, they were admitted to the Pangsha Upazila Health Complex in a seriously injured condition.

The victim’s family has filed a written complaint with the Pangsha Model Police Station in this incident.

Injured Abu Taleb Sardar said that the accused had been threatening him in various ways for a long time and were trying to seize his land. There are even allegations of destroying crops against them. He claimed that the attack was carried out on his family for protesting the cutting of the ail. He demanded a fair investigation and justice for the incident.

No one was found at the accused’s house. The female members who were at the house at the time also refused to talk about the matter.

Sheikh Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Model Police Station, said that he has received a written complaint in this incident. Legal action will be taken after investigation.
