World Environment Day was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with a colorful procession keeping in mind the slogan “To solve plastic pollution – Join us”. Organized by the District Administration and Environment Directorate on Monday (June 05) morning, the DC’s office started at the collectorate square and ended at the same place after the circuit of the important roads of the district city. After that, Deputy Commissioner AKM Ghaliv Khan was the chief guest in the discussion meeting held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam presided over the event. Nawabganj Government College Principal Professor Dr. was present as a special guest. Shankar Kumar Kundu, veteran freedom fighter Advocate Abdus Samad, LGED Executive Engineer Mozahar Ali Prang. Department of Environment Chapainawabganj District Office Senior Chemist Mizanur Rahman and others.
Also present were officials of various departments including the Department of Environment, representatives of various environmental organizations, students of various schools and colleges and journalists of print and electronic media.
