3 Rohingya workers tragically died in a landslide while cutting soil in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. Yesterday, Wednesday (March 29) at 4 o’clock in the morning, three people died due to a landslide while cutting soil in Muhuripara, Ukhia. The fire service is working to rescue a missing person in this incident. The victims are Ukhiya Kutupalong. Syed Akbar (20) son of deceased Md. Wares of B/1 block of 1/East camp, Zahid Hossain (24) son of deceased Abdul Matlab of C/14 block of W/1 camp and Noor Kabir (27) son of Sultan Ahmed of H/107 block of 17 camp. ). According to eyewitness sources, a group of Rohingya workers were cutting the soil of the hill adjacent to the house of Neshar Ahmad, a resident of Muhuri Para area of Ukhia. At that time, 3 workers were buried and died on the spot. Station in-charge of Ukhia Fire Service and Civil Defense Emdadul Haque said that the bodies of two people were recovered at 9 am. Later, the body of Chyed Akbar was recovered using equipment around 12 noon. Ukhia Police Station OC Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that after receiving the news, Ukhia police station recovered the body from the spot and prepared to send it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Legal action will be taken against the guilty persons subject to investigation in this incident.
