Ā ā€œYes! We can eradicate tuberculosis!ā€ Keeping this theme in mind, World Cancer Day 2023 has been celebrated at Joypurhat. On last Thursday (March 23) at 11:30 a.m., a rally started from the District Civil Surgeon office premises and ended at the same place at the end of the main main road circuit. There a discussion meeting was held in the hall of the Civil Surgeon’s office. Civil surgeon Dr. Md. Dr. Joypurhat Modern District Hospital was present under the chairmanship of Wazed Ali. Dr. Shahjahan Mandal, thoracic specialist. Dr. Amanullah Chowdhury, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon Office. Zubair Md. Al Faisal, D,S,M,O, NTP Mustari Mumtaz Mimi, Senior Health Education Officer Chaiti Roy, District Manager of BRAC TB Program Pradeep Kumar Tarafdar etc. According to the information of District Civil Surgeon office, 1 thousand 713 tuberculosis patients were detected in 2022. Out of which 54 were child patients and 3 MDR tuberculosis patients were identified. However, as of writing this report, 450 patients have been identified this year. Tuberculosis patients have decreased by 28 percent in the last two years. And the treatment success rate is 96 percent. 23 thousand 592 people have been tested for possible tuberculosis.
