BLAST’s training on contemporary law and policy held in Dinajpur

A day-long training on contemporary law and policy was held in Dinajpur under the initiative of Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) Dinajpur Unit for lawyers and CSO leaders.

The training program was inaugurated at 9 am on Thursday (May 21) at the city’s NGO Forum for Public Health auditorium. The training was organized under BLAST’s “Promoting Rights, Opportunities, Knowledge for All through Strengthening Capacity of Local-Based Organizations (PROKAS)” project in collaboration with CIVIC ENGAGEMENT FUND (CEF).

The training program was inaugurated by Advocate Sirajum Munira, Vice-President and Legal Advisor of BLAST Dinajpur Unit. Acting Coordinator of BLAST Dinajpur Unit Advocate Pinak Pani Roy, DPO Pratima Rani Roy and Executive Director of BLAST Prakash Project CSO Community Development Center (CDC), Dinajpur, Journalist Yadav Chandra Roy were present at the time.

Former President of Dinajpur District Bar Association Advocate Md. Ekramul Amin and Advocate Farzana Farhin conducted the session as trainers.

Contemporary law, law reform, human rights, justice and various policy issues were discussed in the training. The organizers said that the main goal of this training is to increase the knowledge and skills of lawyers and CSO leaders at the local level and to increase their capacity to ensure justice.
A total of 25 people, including BLAST panel lawyers and CSO leaders, participated in this day-long training.
