Discussion on action plan of PFG in Laksam for peace, harmony and prevention of violence

The quarterly meeting of the Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) was held in Laksam, Comilla, with the theme “Building a Bangladesh of peace and harmony, not conflict”. The meeting was organized on Wednesday (May 20) evening at the local security city in collaboration with the Multi-stakeholder Initiative for Peace and Stability (MIPS).
The meeting was chaired by Peace Ambassador Mir Md. Abu Bakr Siddique and moderated by PFG Laksam Unit Coordinator Zafar Ahmed.
PFG Ambassador Abul Hossain Milon, Women Ambassador Nazneen Akhter Nipa, Former Ambassador Advocate Bikash Chandra Saha, Nazmun Nahar Nupur, The Hunger Project and PFG’s Regional Field Coordinator Khodeja Begum, and various members and representatives of the organization were present.
Arifur Rahman Swapan, Selim Chowdhury Hira, Md. Aurangzeb Khan Rubel, Mohammad Khabir Uddin Kiran, Yunus Majumder, Taslima Akhter, Jasmine Akhter, Rashida Begum, Khaleda Begum, Md. Mamun Hossain and Md. Israfil Hossain also participated in the meeting.
The quarterly meeting discussed in detail the future action plan to maintain peace and social harmony at the local level. At the same time, emphasis was placed on taking effective initiatives to increase public awareness to prevent conflict, violence and social division.
The speakers said that the participation of people from all walks of life must be ensured to establish stability and tolerance in society. They also expressed the view that it is possible to build a peaceful society through mutual respect, dialogue and social harmony. At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their determination to continue such initiatives in the future as well.
