General students of International Standard University (ISU) have held a human chain program to protest nationwide rape and impunity. The program was held at the university’s Mohakhali campus on Thursday.

In the human chain, the students said that if necessary, students of all private universities in the country will unite and form a strong movement against rape and impunity and will continue the movement until the maximum punishment is ensured for the rapists. At the same time, they expressed solidarity with the 48-hour ultimatum announced by the Kalshi residents and demanded that the concerned authorities take urgent steps to ensure exemplary punishment for those involved in the rape incident, quickly dispose of the cases and stop the culture of impunity.

The students also said that criminals are getting away with it again and again due to the culture of impunity and legal procrastination. Therefore, the maximum punishment must be implemented by ensuring speedy trial of heinous crimes like rape.

The students participating in the human chain also demanded speedy trial of all rape cases, including Ramisa and a madrasa student, and the maximum punishment for the perpetrators.
