The monthly meeting of the Barura Upazila Law and Order Committee of Comilla has been held.
On Monday, July 27 at 11 am, the meeting organized by the upazila administration at the Barura Upazila Parishad auditorium was chaired by Barura Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Asaduzzaman Rony, and moderated by Barura Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Ahsan Hafiz. Barura Upazila BNP President Md. Kaiser Alam Selim spoke as a guest.
Barura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Nazmul Haque, Barura Upazila BNP General Secretary Syed Zahirul Haque Swapan, Barura Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Jahidul Islam, Barura Press Club President and Dainik Muktir Awali Newspaper Editor and Publisher Md. Kamruzzaman Joni, Orai Apanjon Social Organization President Md. Ilias Ahmed, Barura Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee President Md. Farukul Islam, Barura Police Station Press Club President and Jhalom High School and College Assistant Professor Mohammad Masud Majumder, Upazila Press Club President Jasim Uddin Khokon, Barura Sunnia Kamil Madrasa Principal Mufti Ali Akbar Farooqui, Jhalom Union Parishad Chairman Md. Nurul Islam, Lakshmipur Union Parishad Chairman Md. Abul Hashem, Bhauksar Union Parishad Chairman Ahmed Jamal Masud, and various department heads, journalists and civil society leaders were present.
Speaking as a guest at the meeting, Barura Upazila BNP President Md. Kaiser Alam Selim said
Honorable Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Suman (MP) has declared zero tolerance against drugs and
has instructed the police administration to bring people involved in drugs under the law, and legal action and strict party decisions will be taken against those who lobby to get rid of drug addicts. He further said that Honorable Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Suman (MP) has instructed the concerned authorities to fully implement the ongoing development work to advance the ongoing development activities of the government.
At the end of the program, prizes and saplings were distributed among the winning students of various schools in the essay competition on the occasion of the tree fair.
