Construction work on the highly anticipated Mithachhara–Bamansundar road—one of the most crucial thoroughfares in Mirsarai Upazila, Chattogram—was officially inaugurated today, promising an end to years of severe commuting hardships for local residents.
Nurul Amin, Member of Parliament for Chattogram-1 (Mirsarai), formally laid the foundation stone and inaugurated the construction work at 12:00 PM on Tuesday (July 28).
Didarul Alam Miyaji, former Convener of the Baraiyarhat Pourashava BNP, attended the ceremony as a special guest. Local public representatives, government officials from various departments, political figures, and prominent community members were also present at the event.
The official commencement of the project has sparked a wave of joy among locals, who have suffered for years due to the dilapidated condition of the road, which severely disrupted daily transport and vehicular movement.
Addressing the ceremony as the chief guest, MP Nurul Amin said, “Our primary objective is to drive overall regional development and facilitate smooth commuting for the public. Once completed, this road will bring a revolutionary change to the communication network between Mithachhara and Bamansundar.”
Locals noted that the newly constructed road will not only streamline travel but also boost the local economy by easing the transportation of agricultural goods and fostering business trade between the two areas. Community members strongly urged the authorities to ensure high-quality, durable construction and complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
