Azad Hossain : The “President’s Challenge Cup and Joint Training Program” officially came to a close at the Archery Training Academy in Tongi, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship. Host nation Bangladesh, alongside international archers from various countries, delivered impressive performances throughout the tournament to bag several medals.
​In the Recurve Mixed Team event, Bangladeshi archer Seema Akter Shimu delivered a standout performance to secure the gold medal. Paired with Malaysia’s Mohammad Danish under team Azalia, the duo dominant overall with a 6–0 set victory over team Bluebell in the final. Team Primrose claimed the bronze medal in the same event after defeating team Dalia.
​Meanwhile, team Lily emerged victorious in the Recurve Under-18 Mixed Team category. The duo of Angela Philip Alexis and Rudra Kumar swept the final with a clean 6–0 win against Mona Alshara and Danesh Balaji Cheral. Team Peony secured third place to win the bronze medal.
​In the Recurve Men’s Individual event, Bangladesh’s Ram Krishna Saha brought home a silver medal. Despite winning the opening set in the final against Bhutanese archer Tshering Kinley, Saha fell short, conceding a 2–6 defeat. Fellow Bangladeshi archer Abdur Rahman Alif finished fourth in the same division. The Recurve Women’s Individual final saw an all-Chinese showdown, where Muji Li clinched the gold medal by defeating fellow countrywoman Jiawen Shen.
​In the Recurve Under-18 Women’s Individual category, Bangladesh’s Sonali Roy and Saima Salah Uddin finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Samia from the United Arab Emirates claimed the top spot, defeating India’s Anandrao Gatha to earn the gold medal.
​The Recurve Under-18 Men’s Individual event saw Bangladesh’s Imtiaz Amin Fatemi Fuad fight his way to the semifinals, eventually finishing fourth. India’s Balaji won the final match, overcoming Mark General of the Philippines.
​The tournament concluded with a grand prize presentation ceremony where distinguished guests awarded medals to the winners. Among the key dignitaries present were Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol, President of World Archery Asia and the Bangladesh Archery Federation, Saad Al Masada, 1st Vice President of World Archery Asia, Henarath Pathirannehelage Sunethra Seneviratne, Executive Member of World Archery Asia, Nina Padilla Cainglet, Ambassador of the Philippines to Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah, Vice-Chancellor of National University.
​Senior officials of the Bangladesh Archery Federation, including Vice Presidents Manjur Alam, Mahin Muktadir Rahman, and Nazim Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Syed Tanveer Raihan, Treasurer Md. Saiduzzaman Tuhin, and Joint Secretaries Md. Sohel Rana and Md. Rubel Hossain were also present at the closing ceremony.
